  2017年是加拿大佛教会湛山精舍乐渡、性空、诚祥三位开山长老在加拿大弘法50周年，藉此殊胜因缘，中加美三国将于2017年6月17日举办三国佛教论坛。本次论坛由加拿大佛教会湛山精舍达义大和尚发起，中国佛教协会、加拿大佛教会与美国佛教联合会共同举办，加拿大湛山精舍承办，多伦多大学，凤凰网,CIBC银行协办。

 


 

论坛宗旨：

 


 

  弘扬佛法，阐发正信，彰显佛陀本怀，促进人心和善，增进人类福祉，维护世界和平。

 


 

论坛主题: 圆融中道，持久和平。

 


 

  分议题分别为：

 

  第一、「菩萨信仰与人间生活」，探讨人间佛教的思想与实践；

 

  第二、「菩萨精神与世界和平」，探讨菩萨道的思想与实践对构建世界和平的价值意义；

 

  第三、「佛教文明与文明对话」，探讨佛教文明与其他宗教、哲学的对话与思想同异，尤其是有关佛教与科学的对话。

 

  本届论坛将邀请中国佛教协会代表团、加拿大佛教代表团、美国佛教界代表团出席。代表团成员由三国诸山长老、佛教界专家、学者、各级政要、相关社团和护法居士代表出席。本届论坛其规模宏大，盛况空前，法缘殊胜。

    CHINA-CANADA-US BUDDHIST FORUM

     


     

      2017 marks the 50th anniversary of Chinese Buddhism propagation in Canada for the three founding Venerable Masters: Ven. Lok To, Ven. Shing Cheung and Ven. Sing Hung. On this auspicious occasion, The Buddhist Association of Canada Cham Shan Temple is holding a series of events. Among them is the China-Canada-US Buddhist Forum initiated by The Buddhist Association of Canada Cham Shan Temple, and jointly presented by the Buddhist Association of China, The Buddhist Association of Canada and the American Buddhist Confederation. The Forum is to be held at the University of Toronto. It is organized by Cham Shan Temple and co-organized by the University of Toronto Phoenix Television and CIBC Bank.

     

      The objectives of the Forum are to propagate Buddhism, generate Right Understanding according to the Buddha’s Teachings, promote individual’s compassion, advance human well-beings, and uphold world peace. The theme of the Forum is “Perfecting the Middle Way & Enduring Peace”. Topics of discussion are: 1) “Bodhisattva Faith and Human Life”, exploring the theory and application of Humanistic Buddhism; 2) “Bodhisattva Path and World Peace”, exploring the ideology and application of Bodhisattva Path and its impact on World Peace; 3) “Buddhist Civilization and Civilized Dialogue”, a philosophical dialogue to explore the similarities and differences in ideology between Buddhism and other religions, and particularly, between Buddhism and Science.

     

      Invited to the Forum are delegates from Buddhist associations in China, Canada and the US. They include venerable masters of the three nations, scholars, government officials, community leaders and devotees. The Forum is spectacular and unprecedented, generating sublime affinity to the Dharma.
