加拿大佛教博物馆开馆仪式

  在世界著名自然景观尼亚加拉瀑布旁边坐落着一座万佛舍利宝塔寺。寺中，有七层舍利宝塔，是性空长老发心兴建，于2001年建成开光。宝塔中收藏有很多佛教艺术品，有珍贵的寿山石、木雕、瓷器甚至珍贵玉石制成的各种佛像、菩萨像、罗汉像和大量佛教经藏。今年正值湛山精舍乐渡、性空、诚祥三位长老在加拿大弘法50周年，达义大和尚有感于多伦多没有一个佛教博物馆，遂决定将万佛舍利宝塔作为加拿大佛教博物馆对外开放，让更多的人有机会了解汉传佛教，亲近佛法。

 

  加拿大佛教博物馆定于2017年6月20日上午10：00隆重开馆，届时将公开展览加拿大佛教会湛山精舍三位开山长老和达义大和尚多年收藏的几百件珍贵佛教文物和纪念品。

    OPENING CEREMONY OF BUDDHIST MUSEUM IN CANADA

     


     

      Ten Thousand Buddhas Sarira Stupa is located in the world renowned scenic Niagara Falls. The 7-storey Stupa, conceptualized by Venerable Master Sing Hung, was completed and consecrated in 2001. There are many Buddhist cultural artifacts on display in the Stupa such as：precious Shoushan stone, wood carvings, porcelain and statues of Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and Arhats carved out of exquisite jade, as well as a large collection of sutras. To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Buddhism propagation in Canada by the three founding Venerable Masters: Sing Hung, Lok To and Shing Cheung, Ven. Dayi Shi decided to remodel the Stupa and turn it into a Buddhist museum in view of the fact that there is none in Toronto. This would allow the public the opportunity to understand Chinese Buddhism and be closer to the Dharma.

     

      The Inauguration of the Buddhist Museum will be at 10:00 am on June 20, 2017. There will be a public exhibition of Buddhist artifacts and memorabilias collected by the three founding Venerable Masters and Venerable Dayi Shi of Cham Shan Temple.

      2) Sign up for the Shuttle Bus Service. Fee is $35 (lunch included). Please arrive at Cham Shan Temple at 7:00 am. Shuttle buses depart at 7:30 am and return to Cham Shan Temple at 4:00 pm.
